Katie Fowler Psychotherapy

What I Offer

I am a trustworthy therapist with over 10 years of experience, trained and accredited in both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). I work with people experiencing difficulties such as Anxiety, Stress and Depression.

I also have extensive training and experience in working with Trauma, OCD and Low Self-Esteem.

I have a warm, friendly and compassionate approach to therapy. I work in a collaborative way, which means we will both take an active role in your sessions, thinking together about how to make positive changes in your life.

Through CBT I provide a structured approach that will help you manage your mental health differently. CBT will look at unhelpful patterns in the way you are thinking and behaving, and give you clear ideas for how to make changes. CBT is a recommended therapy to help with Anxiety, Trauma and Depression. Interpersonal Psychotherapy looks at how our relationship problems impact on our mood. IPT can help with processing changes in relationships, arguments and bereavement. The initial assessment session gives us the opportunity to work out what would best suit you, and plan our work together.

Before moving to private practice, I held a senior management position within the NHS as a Highly Specialist CBT Therapist. I now work with Royal Holloway University London to supervise trainee CBT therapists.

I offer sessions online and in Clapham Junction (Northcote Road). Please contact me to arrange a free 15-minute telephone consultation to see if you would like to work together.

Neuro-Affirming Therapy for People with ADHD and Autism

I specialise in working with clients who are Neurodiverse. Whether you are formally diagnosed, you self-identify, or you simply suspect. I know that the challenges of living with Autism and ADHD can have a huge impact on your mental health. CBT can help you manage anxiety and unhelpful thinking so that you feel more able to cope with these challenges. IPT can support with relationship difficulties, where one or both people, are Neurodiverse.

A Neuro-Affirming approach is firstly about understanding and accepting what makes you different. Then, working together in therapy to address the issues that you want to change. I truly believe that you can make long-lasting changes through therapy. I aim to help all my clients build a greater sense of confidence and compassion towards themselves. I am happy to adapt my therapy to meet your needs, please feel free to tell me directly what does or does not work for you.

In 2016 I took a role in the NHS of championing therapy for Neurodiverse people, and I have continued this work ever since. Over the years I have attended additional training, conferences and special interest groups on this topic.

CBT Clinical Supervision

I work with the Royal Holloway University London CBT training programme, supervising High-Intensity CBT Therapists. I am a BABCP Accredited Supervisor and able to offer private CBT supervision. I provide a warm and supportive environment for our supervision discussions. I will give ideas and structured feedback, whilst keeping up to date with the latest changes to evidence based recommendations.
